How to clean pool tile without causing damage.

Every single swimming pool in the south western united states will get calcium and scale buildup on their swimming pool tiles. Glass pool tiles, mosaic pool tiles, porcelain pool tile will all get calcium buildup on them. How can you prevent it? The first way is to monitor your total dissolved solids. If you live in the warmer climates of Arizona, Nevada or California, this is extremely important! The higher the rate of evaporation, the higher the rate of total dissolved solids will be introduced into your pool water. The higher the tds reading, the faster the rate of return of deposits on your pool tiles. One way to combat this is to drain off the high tds water in your pool for lower tds water.
After the water level has been lowered, you will notice the calcium ring on your pool tiles. Now would be a great time to have them cleaned. Every pool tile cleaner swears up and down that they have the best pool tile cleaning process. Here are some facts: Pool tile cleaning with bead blasting will damage pool tiles if the pressure is in excess of 30 psi. It WILL NOT harm the water quality. Bead blasting with a pressure under 30 psi WILL NOT HARM POOL TILE. Pool tile cleaners that lack the quality equipment to do this service should not be hired to work on your property. Pool tile cleaning with maxx strip pool tile cleaners will not damage the pool tile. It will however damage your grout and loosen your pool tiles which will then remove tiles from your pool. Using this pressure washing system will also saturate your pool water. Your pool filter will need to be cleaned afterwards costing additional money. Overly saturated pool water will raise the total dissolved solids. So the best way to remove calcium and scale deposits from pool tile is to bead blast them off with 20 psi. To find a qualified pool tile cleaner in your area google search "Licensed Pool Tile Cleaner"
or "20 psi Pool Tile Cleaner"

Pool Tile Cleaner

Hiring a licensed pool tile cleaner doesn't necessarily mean that the rates are higher. Licensed contractors still have to contend with the unlicensed tile cleaners working underground. The risks of hiring an unlicensed pool tile cleaner are tremendous, not only for you the home owner, but also your neighbors as well. The equipment used can be very hazardous to life and property. Licensed pool tile cleaners are ALWAYS BONDED! It is extremely rare to find an unlicensed pool tile cleaner that carries a bond! Carrying a bond is like a insurance certificate that a homeowner can cash in effortlessly, as opposed to a long, expensive, drawn out litigation process that hiring an unlicensed pool tile cleaner can cause if something is to happen. Remember the old saying: Better to be safe than sorry. Surface Renewal Pool Tile Cleaning is licensed and bonded in the State of California. Every pool tile cleaner that is licensed by the State of California is mandated by federal law to publish there contractor license number. So if a pool tile cleaner doesn't publish a 6 digit contractor license number, chances are THEY AREN'T LICENSED!

Pool Tile Cleaning

Cleaning pool tile has been a passion of mine for quite some time. I have strived to learn everything there is in order to refine the process I have created. Pool tile cleaning in general, doesn't sound too complex of a process, however in order to clean pool tile correctly, there shouldn't be any damage left behind. I have refined the bead blasting process as well as created another process, Dry Soda Blasting. I use that pool tile cleaning process to remove scale and calcium from masonry as well as Glass Pool Tile.
