Pool Tile Cleaning by Surface Renewal
Every pool gets the calcium buildup on the pool tile. It's a fact of owning a pool in the South Western United States. There are a few ways to remove calcium and scale build up. SURFACE RENEWAL USES BEAD BLASTING AND SODA BLASTING ONLY! Here's why...
1.Bead Blasting (Media blasting using glass bead shot at low pressure)
Pro: Quick, efficient, low dust, non damaging below 30 PSI.
Con: Can't be used on glass tile. We clean our pool tiles at a LOW 20 lbs! We have specialized media blasting equipment that allows us to do that. We use different media for glass pool tile!
2.Soda Blasting w/ Magnesium Sulphate (Dry) 20 P.S.I.
Pro: It does not harm the pool tile surface. It is Ph neutral and eco-friendly. It is also water soluble and safe to use on glass tile.
Con: Minimal amount of dust.
Pressure washing glass pool tile will remove the tiles resulting in extremely expensive pool tile repair!
3.Pressure Washing with Media Injection @ 4500 PSI (VERY DANGEROUS)
PRESSURE WASHING POOL TILE DESTROYS GROUT AND REMOVES POOL TILES!
Pro: Will not harm the surface of the pool tile
Con: Pressure washing will eat away the grout and dislodge any loose tiles unlike bead blasting. Once the calcium is wet, it turns transparent, so some calcium will remain on the tile surface. Once the tile cleaning job is finished, you will need to have your filter cleaned, costing an additional $75.00 most times. This process incredibly messy and completely saturates the pool water, resulting in a quicker return of deposits! This is the least expensive way to start a pool tile cleaning business, so you get the least experienced people working on your property! To correctly bead blast or soda blast pool tile, requires extremely expensive, highly specialized equipment and the state license to do it legally!
Surface Renewal uses the tried and true method of Bead Blasting as well as the new to the industry Soda Blasting to remove scale and calcium deposits from EVERY SURFACE! We don't need to do a test spot to see if we can get it off, because we can! We bring all of our equipment with us to do the job right!
